Waterfront Orientation and Swim Testing:

We require all swimmers to participate in waterfront orientation and a swim test. The orientation is just 15 minutes, followed by a test where participants jump in the water, swim from one dock to the other and back, then tread water for around 30 seconds.

SHARK—

If they complete the whole test, they are given a wristband that indicates they are a "shark" and can swim in any swim sections without a life jacket.

DOLPHIN—

If they jump in and only swim to one dock, but can't return, then they get a wristband that indicates they are a "dolphin," and can swim in our first 2 swim sections without a life jacket, and the 3rd one with a life jacket.

SEAL—

If they jump in but need to get out right away, or they choose not to participate, then they are automatically a "seal," meaning they can be in the first swim section without a life jacket, and the second section with a life jacket, but cannot enter the 3rd, deeper, swim section.

**Adults do not need to test.
